Kings!

Competitive speedway racing returns to Kent this coming summer, in the shape of the Kent "Kings", who will be based at Central Park, Sittingbourne. Heat 8 of each meeting will be sponsored by The Conqueror and race night will normally be Monday at 6.30pm. The opening meeting, against a USA touring team, will be on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May with tapes up at 3pm.

The presentation of the Pub of the Year certificate will take place on Friday 29th March at 4pm at the Winter Gardens.

Certified!

As most of you will know, The Conqueror was runner-up in the CAMRA National Pub of the Year Competition. A certificate will be presented at the Planet Thanet Easter Beer Festival at Margate's Winter Gardens and I'll advise which day and time nearer the event.

Current beers are Gadds' No.7, Whitstable Oyster Stout and Potbelly Crazy Daze.

Don't Forget!

The Conqueror will be closed from tomorrow (10th Feb) and will re-open on Tuesday 19th Feb with a nice new toilet floor. As the beer stocks are being run down prior to closure, there may not be much of a selection this evening but whatever we have left will be in tip-top condition!

The Beeb!

The Conqueror will feature on BBC's South East Today programme, which goes out at 1.30pm and 6.30pm tomorrow (Friday). I guess it will also be available on I-player.

Also, have a look at www.micropubcrawl.com/ (if you haven't already). Nice little site.

Improvements!

Please note that the Conqueror will be closed from Sunday 10th February to Monday 18th February 2013 INCLUSIVE. This is to enable some necessary improvements to the toilet floor to be carried out. I am tempted to say "sorry for the inconvenience" but, as life is not a Carry On film, I shall refrain.
